As our dry, hot summer at Nevada’s high desert eked on, we were overdue for a trip to the coast and some fresh salt air. Our 30′ Alumascape trailer in tow behind the Ram 3500 truck, we traversed the Sierra Range, crossed the Sacramento Valley, drove through the Napa/Sonoma Wine Country and wound our way to the Sonoma Coast north of the Bay Area.
On California’s rugged northern coastline, Bodega Bay welcomes travelers. This community, popularized in the 1963 Alfred Hitchcock thriller “The Birds”, has played a notable role in the West Coast’s fishing industry and California’s early history.
